Max,
What a summer we have had: swimming, the beach, Grammy's house, playing in dirt piles, reading books, blowing bubbles, Crossfit Kids, Little Kickers, Bible School, and so much more.
During the first week of summer you attended Bible School at First Baptist. We love our church, and so do you. I pray you always have a desire to attend and to be involved in church. Mrs. Ann Oliver was your teacher. You had such a good time learning about Jesus! My heart swelled each day I heard you talk about it and saw all of the things you made.
You have been jumping in the pool with your puddle jumper on with no fear, even putting your head under water (my swim teachers had to push my head under water). I'm so proud of you. You loved the beach, especially crab hunting and swimming in the pool at our beach house. You became so brave in the water, jumping in on your own and paddling and kicking your legs.
We've been at Grammy and Granddaddy's house a lot this summer. They even bought you boys a new riding toy, a police car--which you all love and argue over! We've had fun all summer playing with your cousins and spending time with family.
Early this summer, you participated in Little Kickers. This is a program put on by the HCHS soccer girls and is a fundraiser for them. The first day was a little rocky. You and Jude played alot...not soccer, more like pushing, shoving, rolling in the grass. Looking back, it was a little comical. At the time, I was mortified. We had you and Jude put in different groups the next day, and it was a little better. We learned so much that week: you hate taking turns, you only like to be first, you don't want anyone else touching your ball, if you're hot...you're sitting down...oh me, it was a long, HOT week, but I'm glad we did it.
You also spent a few weeks in Crossfit Kids. I love Crossfit, so it was so neat to see my sweet boy in the gym that I love doing squats and burpees. During this time, it became even more evident that you don't like taking turns and are a little bit competitive, which is perfectly fine...we just have to figure out how to use that energy in a more positive way. Hitting, kicking, biting....ugh has me cringing!!!
Tonight, your prayer went something like this:
Thank you, God, for police cars at Grammy's.
Thank you, God, for all the buttons I get to push.
Thank you, God, for beautiful things.
Thank you, God, for all the letters in my name.
I pray you always have a grateful heart.
I surely am grateful for you! I love you so much.
Love,
Mama
