looking ahead to 2014

Max,

I have been writing to you for almost two years now.  It doesn't seem like long ago when I was getting into the car around midnight, heading to HCMC, looking at your daddy and telling him how scared I was to be in labor.  I had no idea what being a mom was all about, and when I saw your beautiful face, I was never more sure that there was a God and that He was wonderful, and never more thankful for love!

You have kept me on my toes from the very beginning.  Even now, I'm shocked at some of the things you will do!  Climbing, throwing, jumping, dancing, singing, running, falling, crying, laughing, smiling...you are truly a verb!!  You are just simply active, which is wonderful and hard all at the same time.  You are not a fan of listening at all!  But you love a make up hug and an I'm sorry!

You can say absolutely anything.  You are saying: What are you doing?  (all the time)  Daddy gone to work?  Daddy at the bank?  I wanna take a shower.  I go fast. (as you take off running)  turn on the tv.  I love you.  Help.  I don't like it.  yogurt ( you love it, but you want to eat it without any help--mess!)

Oh and potty training...yeah it's sort of happening...but not really---I hope that's your resolution for 2014.  Let's get potty trained!  I foresee lots of tears and No's in my future when it comes to this topic...for both of us.

Stubborn is the word to describe you.  You know what you want---I'm really not sure where you got that from :)  I know one day I will be so thankful that you are independent, but right now it's just exhausting.

In the new year, we are also going to focus on sharing.  It's not really your thing...And eating healthier!  You are very picky, so that just means I  need to get a little more creative in what I prepare for you.

I love you, Max.  I thank God for you each day.  I honestly don't know what I did with my time before God sent you to me.  Thank you for your sweet hugs and kisses!

Love,
Mama
