holidays 2013

Max,

We just celebrated Thanksgiving...you were so not impressed with turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, or any of that home cooking, but you did manage to go around saying "cake" for 3 or 4 days straight!  Still have a sweet tooth.

We first celebrated in Clifton with the Burnses and then in Buchanan with the Whites, Hendrickses, and Hinsons!  What fun it was to get together with family and eat!  I love that my job allows me to be off on holidays...such special times to spend with family!

You colored turkeys with Mrs. Pam and even made a turkey out of a glass jar and chocolate chips with her.  I'm so happy you love going to Mrs. Pam's each day of the week...it is such a wonderful feeling knowing you are loved and taken care of even when mommy and daddy are not around.  You say, "Pam" and "Mark" daily!  Glad you love them.

Today all of your preschool prep videos came in...I'm anxious about you not attending preschool like Jack and Jude and worry you won't learn what you need to learn.  It's a crazy thing because you are so smart already.

You love to play with buses and trains right now.  You stay busy all day long just playing and getting into things!  Tonight I read The Elf on the Shelf book to you...well sort of.  You really have no interest in sitting and listening at this stage...but I kind of forced you, and when I asked you what you wanted to name the elf that would come visit you, you said, "Gummy".  So, Gummy it is, and I can't wait to see how you react when he arrives at our house in the morning!!

I am trying to live in every single moment-it's hard for me to do that.  I'm usually thinking how sad I will be when you are all grown or how fast time is going.  I have to remind myself often to forget about those things and just live in the now and appreciate every moment with you!

You are smart, funny, curious, and beautiful!  I love you!
