Your first sleepover

Max,

I cried like a baby when I left you for the first time overnight.  I know it hurt me way more than it did you.  In fact, I don't think you cared at all!  On June 16, 2013, your daddy and I took you to Grammy and Granddaddy's house around 5PM.  We had to go to the hospital at 8PM, so that I could be induced.  You were about to become a big brother.  You spent the night without us for the very first time, and I'm pretty sure you were completely spoiled while we were away.  Rides on the pug and playing outside and all attention on you!  You had it made.  As we drove away, I couldn't help but think how fast time was going and that the next time you saw me, you would be a big brother!  How were you going to react?  I had no idea, but I was nervous for sure.  You were so used to being the baby that I was uncertain how you would transition to baby Tagg.  I was beyond excited to see your sweet little face when you came to the hospital.  You sat in daddy's lap and looked at sweet baby Tagg, which is one of my favorite pictures.  How quickly all our lives were changing, but for the better!

It has been one month since bringing Tagg home, and I think you are adjusting quite well.  You love on him mostly with the occasional smack here and there...making that baby bro tough I think.  Your biggest problem: anyone rocking Tagg in the recliner.  We've learned....that recliner is yours!  We respect that!!!

I'm so proud of how well you treat Tagg, but I'm so sad at what a big boy you are becoming.  No matter what, sweet boy, you will always be my baby!  Even when I want to pull my hair out because you have smashed granola into the carpets, or taken off your diaper for the 20th time, or only taken a 20 minute nap...I still can't get enough of those big brown eyes.  What a great big brother you are and are going to be!

I love you, Maxman
