Mamas

Max,

You are tucked away in your big boy bed, and I'm awake thinking about how special being a mom really is.  Tomorrow we will celebrate Mother's Day, and honor and remember all of the mothers in our lives who have loved us, taught us, and inspired us.  How differently our lives would have turned out if we didn't have such wonderful mothers all throughout the years! I don't think being a good mom comes naturally; it's not an innate characteristic.  I believe we become the mothers, fathers, and individuals we are because of all those who have helped mold and shape us.  How blessed we are to have some wonderful molders and shapers :)

I wish you could have met your great grandmother, Mary Hinson.  I called her Grandmama...she loved little ones; I know she would have loved you so much.  She reared 5 children, and the middle one-my mom and your Grammy-is one of the best moms I know.  I'm not sure where I would be without her.  I'm a better mom because of her, and you are blessed because of that!  Your Great Grandmother White is still living and how blessed you are to have met her.  She is a strong Christian woman who loves her family.  Your aunt Christy was the first to have a baby, and she taught me so much about being a new mom.  Apparently, it's okay if you eat a little dirt...or cry a little:)  She is definitely a more easy going mom than I will probably ever be.  I apologize for that in advance!  She has given you three sweet cousins, and I can't wait to watch you boys grow!  Another sweet mama is our Aunt Bonnie, who loves you and takes care of you each day of the week, so that I can go to work.

Though I have always celebrated Mother's Day, it has never held as much significance as it does now that I am a mama.  You and baby Tagg have brought so much meaning to my life, and I'm so grateful for that.  You both make me realize how much a mama really loves her babies.  I am so thankful for my mom and all of the mothers who have inspired me and loved me along the way!
......................................................................................................................................................................

You are 14.5 months old and love being outside!!  all of the time.  It's all I can do at 34 weeks pregnant to keep up with you :)  We have successfully moved you into your new room and fixed up baby Tagg's room.  There are still some things to be done, but for the most part, we are ready for Tagg to join us.  You can tell us what a lion says, a dog, and a cow.  You point to everything and say, "this."  So, we tell you what everything is!  You still love your bath time.  You can say Dozer (Josh and Christy's dog), cracker, thank you, mama, daddy, juice, this, Lola (Josh and Christy's dog), bye bye, Max (almost), uh huh....and your all time favorite thing to do is shake your head no to every single question!!  Especially, "Can you give kisses?" or "Can you give hugs?"  You have learned to love on baby Jace and will place your head on his feet...hoping this sticks when Tagg arrives!!  And just like your mama, you like chocolate a little too much!  Get ready because paleo is coming back to this house when Tagg gets here...your system may be in shock!

I love you, sweet Max!  Thanks for making me a mama!
